SUPER BOWL PREDICTION

Conference Championship Record: 2-0 (1.000)
Total Playoff Record: 7-3 (.700)

Just a quick note- since I already did the dirty on looking up both teams' stats, here they are. Peruse to your liking.

Super Bowl XLVIII: Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos

Thoughts: Everyone will be focusing on Peyton Manning going against the Seahawks' secondary. And they should. The Broncos haven't faced a defense as good as the Seahawks' and the Seahawks' haven't faced an offense as good as the Broncos'. The Broncos won't have the altitude to their advantage and the Seahawks won't have the 12th Man.

But the Seahawks' offense against the Broncos' defense will be the most fascinating to me. How will the Broncos' handle Russell Wilson? Or Marshawn Lynch? Or the Seahawks' underrated receivers? Will Terrence Knighton be able to dominate the Seahawks like he did the Patriots? Can Marshawn Lynch have back-to-back 100 yard rushing games against teams with top ten run defenses? Is the Broncos secondary completely outmatched?

If I had to guess, the Seahawks' offense will perform very well against the Broncos' defense. Peyton Manning is going to score at least two touchdowns in the game no matter what, and I'm probably being conservative in that assessment.

All things considered, this is likely to be a hard-fought game. The team that scores at least 24 or 27 points will likely win the game. The Seahawks have their roster constructed in such a way that gives them the advantage in this game at a neutral site. It'll be close, but I'm going with my preseason Super Bowl pick.

Pick: Seahawks
